step 1 - What is a tangram?
- A tangram is a Chinese puzzle made out of only 7 pieces. You can rearrange the pieces in any way to make new shapes. Here are a few examples of what you can make with your tangram.
step 2 - Cut the heat transfer
- To get separate pieces you need to cut trough both the transfer and the plastic backing.
- Use the template and the vinyl cutter to cut the heat transfer. You can cut it from one color or mix and match several for a more colorful end result.
step 3 - Collect your pieces, rearrange
- There is one piece that cant be flipped by rotating it. Its the one that has a separate mirrored version in the template.
- Place your bag on top of the board so you can easily take it to the heat press later.
- Place the pieces with the shiny side up and rearrange them into a new shape.
step 4 - Press
- Be carefull when removing the plastic layer. It can still be hot.
- Carefully place your bag with the design in the heat press.
- Press the transfers onto the fabric.
- Wait for the bag to cool down and remove the plastic layer that is on top of the segments.
step 5 - Add text
- You can stop here, but you can also add some text.
- Use a marker to draw the letters on the shiny side of the transfer, and as close to the side as possible to minimise waste.
- Cut out the letters.
step 6 - Press the letters
- Press the letters onto the bag using the heat press.
- Let the bag cool down and remove the transparent layer.
step 7 - Done!
- You're all done!
